2024 - Viva!

On Friday, 29th November, the Social Centre in Playa del Albir played host to Viva! A concert by Canto Mundial under the direction of Philip Ashley. The event, which brought together an eclectic mix of musical genres, proved to be moving and inspiring, drawing a diverse audience that included representatives from the Alfaz del Pi council and the local food bank.

The evening opened with the group's theme song "I Have A Song To Sing", setting the tone for a night steeped in musical excellence. From the powerful, theatrical renditions in the "Andrew Lloyd Webber Medley" to the uplifting mashup of Over The Raindbow/What A Wonderful World, each performance underscored the versatility and passion of the choir. Closing with a medley of Neil Diamond hits, the audience was treated to a resounding finale that had everyone singing along.

While the music took centre stage, the event's community-driven ethos was equally noteworthy. With €600 raised for the Alfaz del Pi Food Bank, the concert demonstrated how art and generosity can harmoniously blend to make a tangible difference.
